State Releases from Yolo Cases

A person sentenced from Yolo County Superior Court to state prison leaves the county-jail lookup path. Yolo may still hold the original booking, transport, court, and commitment records, but release from a California state prison is confirmed through CDCR, the Board of Parole Hearings when a suitability proceeding is involved, and DAPO if the person is released to state parole.

Use Monroe Detention Center only for the county booking and county release or transfer event. Use CIRIS for the state custody record, commitment county, current location or state status, admission information, and any BPH dates or outcomes exposed in the state result.

How to Search CIRIS

1. Gather the person's full legal name, date of birth or approximate age, and CDCR number if known.
2. Open CIRIS at https://ciris.mt.cdcr.ca.gov/.
3. Search by CDCR number first if available; otherwise search by last and first name.
4. Compare age, commitment county, admission information, and name details before relying on a match.
5. Look for current location or status language. A current institution means the person has not been released from state custody.
6. Review any BPH hearing fields carefully. A parole grant is not the same as completed release until final review and processing are complete.

CA.gov describes CIRIS results as including name, CDCR number, age, current location, commitment counties, admission date, and Board of Parole Hearing dates and outcomes for people currently in CDCR custody. For a Yolo-connected record, the commitment county helps tie the state case back to Yolo Superior Court, but it does not mean the person is housed in Yolo jail.

Release Processing Limits

CDCR release processing is not just a displayed date. Research notes that Case Records verifies court orders, confirms no other commitment remains, applies credits, checks notifications, and identifies holds, warrants, or detainers that may supersede a release order. Treat a projected date as a planning field until the state record or CDCR records office confirms the release was processed.

CIRIS Fields for Yolo Releases

Yolo Court to CDCR Path

A Yolo Superior Court judgment is the bridge from county jail to CDCR. The county court record can show the sentence, commitment, credits, and any later resentencing or correction. CDCR release processing depends on official court documents reaching CDCR Case Records. Research notes that CDCR does not treat a copy from a family member, public defender, private attorney, incarcerated person, or other representative as the required verification for release processing.

If a CIRIS record appears inconsistent with a court order, compare the court minute order, abstract or commitment record, and CDCR guidance. The public page should not promise that a court paper in someone's possession will cause immediate release. The correct route is the sentencing court sending official documents and CDCR Case Records applying credits, checking holds, and processing release.

State Release and Parole

Release from CDCR custody may lead to state parole through DAPO, discharge, or another lawful custody path. If the person is released to parole in the Yolo or Woodland area, research points to the DAPO Northern Region listing for Vallejo and Woodland at a Fairfield address. That is separate from Yolo County Probation. County probation orders come from the court and county probation office; state parole follows CDCR and DAPO records.

Use CIRIS first for state custody status, then DAPO for state parole supervision contacts, and BPH schedules or results when a suitability hearing is involved. Use Yolo jail records only for the original county booking or county transfer event.
